DR. SURENDRA KESHAV MANJREKAR is Chairman and Managing Director of M/s. Sunanda Speciality Coatings Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai a firm that manufacturers specialised construction chemicals and offers consulting services in related field for its use. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1977 from University of Bombay.

He is the PRESIDENT of ACI - INDIA CHAPTER and was Past President from 1998 to 2001. He is one of the three members in India to have been conferred upon with the FELLOWSHIP OF AMERICAN CONCRETE INSTITUTE - USA. He has also been awarded with the “ACI CHAPTER ACTIVITIES AWARD” for his dedicated service to the ACI India Chapter and his years of service to the concrete industry.

He has been recently given “Board Committee Appointment” on INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE of ACI for a 3 year term. The mission of this committee is to develop and coordinate ways and means to promote communication and co-operation between ACI and international chapters, International Partners, and organizations and institutions beyond the U.S. and Canada that share common interests with ACI. He has also been adopted on ACI 364 COMMITTEE as a voting member. This Committee develops and maintains standards for rehabilitation, renovation and preservation of concrete and masonry structures. He is the first Indian National to sit on the apex global committee on “Repair and Rehabilitation”.

He has been invited to be on the member of the Managing Council of ‘Abhinav Abhiyantriki Sthapatya Kendra’ Pune for the period 2006-2009.

He is also a fellow member of ICI India and attached with many other professional organizations. Dr. Manjrekar has published more than 200 papers in various national and international journals that has resulted in deeper understanding of construction chemicals and its application. He is visiting faculty at VJTI, Mumbai and many other engineering colleges across the country. He has delivered many lectures on chemistry of cement and concrete, polymers and their applications in civil engineering, etc. to prestigious bodies like Institution of Engineers, Association of Consulting Engineers, Indian Concrete Institute, ACI India Chapter, etc. He has been deeply involved in Rehabilitation of Prince of Wales Museum, Mumbai; Town Hall, Kolkata; Agakhan Jamatkhana at Mumbai and Hyderabad; Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan, Birla House, etc. He has also been involved in many rehabilitation jobs abroad. Recently, they have executed one major project in Florida USA, beating their contemporary counter parts there.

In 2004, his rehabilitation work on TOWN HALL, KOLKATTA has been awarded for "EFFECTIVE USE OF CONSTRUCTION CHEMICALS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING PROJECTS" by the ASSOCIATION OF CONSULTING CIVIL ENGINEERS- INDIA at the Annual Function in Madurai.

In 2005, his breakthrough development of “ANTI WASHOUT ADMIXTURE for 35 meters deep underwater mass concreting of 30,000 cum for a weir project at Srisalem, Hyderabad, (A.P)” fetched him yet another consecutive ACCE-2005 award at the Annual Function held in Bangalore. He is also the recipient of the RASHTRIYA UDYOG RATNA AWARD which was conferred on him by the IOBRD in New Delhi in March 2005.
