ADVANTAGES

  • Tough abrasion resistant film
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Excellent adhesion to many surfaces
  • Equally effective on concrete or metal substrate

INSTRUCTION FOR USE

A) Cleaning

  • SUNEPOXY 358 is to be applied to sound, clean dry substrates in order to achieve maximum adhesion between the coating and substrate.

  • All surface contamination must be removed.

  • Grease and oil should be grit blasted or water jetted.

  • Deeper penetration of contaminants must be removed by mechanical means.

  • Incase it is used as a bonding agent for concrete surface, all laitance must be removed from concrete surface then washed off and dried.

  • If SUNEPOXY 358 is to be coated on new concrete it should be allowed to cure for at least 28 days prior to coating.

  • Steel surfaces should be shot-blasted to get a clean surface.

B) Mixing

  • Pour 0.5 Kg of hardener into 1 Kg resin container. Mix the materials thoroughly using a mechanical mixer at a slow speed.
  • Flame proof or air driven drill fitted with a mixing attachment is recommended.

C) Application

Priming Coat

Apply the prepared mix immediately by brush.

Mortar

After applying the priming coat by brush immediately place epoxy mortar consisting of the following components mixed thoroughly to homogeneity.
2 Kg Resin + 1 Kg Hardner + 9-12 kg graded quartz sand
Lay this mortar in required thickness and level with trowel.

Seal Coat

24 hrs after placing the mortar, apply a seal coat of SUNEPOXY 358 as explained in the priming step.

COVERAGE

For coating approx. 45 ft2 to 50 ft2
15 Kg mortar yields approx. 7 - 8 L volume

STORAGE AND PRECAUTIONS

  • Prepare priming coat, mortar and seal coat in small lots and utilise within half an hour.
Some people may be sensitive to epoxy resin and on skin contact may develop dermatitis.
Gloves and barrier creams should be used.

  • If contact with the skin occurs, wash with soap and plenty of water.

  • Direct contact with eyes will cause irritation and may cause serious damage if left untreated.

  • Any eye contamination should be washed thoroughly with plenty of water and immediately medical treatment should be sought.

  • Use of goggles while mixing is recommended.

  • SUNEPOXY 358 is inflammable. Ensure adequate ventilation when using primers and solvents and do not use near a naked flame.

  • Tools and equipments should be cleaned with Xylene immediately after use.

PACKING
