DESCRIPTION
SUNEPOXY PAINT is based on select epoxy resins specially formulated and pigmented to provide a durable coating, suitable for application to both vertical and horizontal surfaces. It cures to form a smooth film with good resistance to a wide range of mineral and organic acids, alkalis, fats and oils. It can also be used for corrosion protection of steel.
APPLICATIONS
- A hygienic and chemical resistant coating for steel tanks, concrete walls, concrete and metal columns, RCC Bridges etc.
- Anti-corrosive coating over reinforcement.
PROPERTIES
Pot life : 1 hr approx.
Cure time : 2-4 hrs.
Time between coats : 6-8 hrs.
Initial cure : 18 hrs.
Full cure : 3 days

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
SUNEPOXY PAINT has been formulated specially to provide the highest chemical and carbonation resistance. However, at elevated temperatures or where mixtures of chemicals are involved then the effects may be different than those found in laboratory tests. However it can be modified to suit specific requirements.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Surface to be coated must be structurally sound, dry and free from loose materials. All surface contamination must be removed. Grease and oil should be grit blasted or water jetted. Deeper penetration must be removed by mechanical means. Any laitance must be removed from concrete surface, then washed off and dried. New concrete should be allowed to cure for at least 28 days prior to coating. Steel surfaces should be shot-blasted to get a clean surface. It is essential that SUNEPOXY PAINT is applied to sound, clean dry substrates in order to achieve maximum adhesion between the coating and substrate.
Mixing
Half kg contents of the hardener pack should be poured into One kg Resin container and the materials thoroughly mixed. Mechanical mixing using a slow speed (300-500 rpm) flame proof or air driven drill fitted with a mixing attachment is recommended.
Priming
The first coat of SUNEPOXY PAINT works as the priming coat.
Coating
After 2-3 hrs of application of primer, apply two coats of paint at an interval of 12 hrs.
NOTE : Prepare the epoxy mix in small lots and utilize within half an hour.
Yield
Coverage for paint application is approx 70 -80 sq.ft per litre depending upon the surface conditions.
Fire
SUNEPOXY PAINT is flammable. Ensure adequate ventilation when using primers and solvents and do not use near a naked flame.
Cleaning
Tools and equipments should be cleaned with Xylene immediately after use.
PRECAUTIONS
All necessary precautions for handling and storage of epoxy should be followed including safety of health and equipments.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE
It has a shelf life of 12 months when stored in original packing in a cool, dry place. |
