JOINT DESIGN
- For cyclic movement joints should be designed so as to give an optimum
width to depth ratio of 2:1.
- For porous substrates minimum sealant depth should be 10 mm.
- For nonporous substrates minimum depth should be 6 mm.
- For horizontal joints minimum depth should be 12.5 mm.
- For joints subjected to traffic or hydraulic pressure minimum depth should be 20 mm.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
A. Preparation of substrate
- Clean the surface free of all dirt, dust, and cement laitance and any deleterious matter with a wire brush followed by blowing clean air.
- Metallic surfaces must be free of rust, scale or protective lacquers.
B. Priming
- Two primers are available
SUNJOINTSEAL PRIMER A and SUNJOINTSEAL PRIMER B
- Use SUNJOINTSEAL PRIMER A on porous surfaces such as concrete, brick, stone etc. and SUNJOINTSEAL PRIMER B on non porous surfaces such as steel, glazed ceramics, glass etc.
- Before the application of the sealant, the joint surface should be primed.
