DESCRIPTION
POLYALK - TA is single component, ready to use, tile fixing adhesive. It is specially formulated for greater adhesion in the fixing of ceramic, mosaic, quarry, terrazzo and cement tiles to masonry , Cementatious substrates and walls. It can be used for interior as well as exterior applications.
POLYALK – TA is available in Grey & White colours.
GENERAL
Normally the material used for fixing tiles is neat cement paste. The cement paste looses its workable consistency after about half an hour, then it becomes necessary to add more water to keep same workable consistency. This results in decreased bonding strength. Besides this, the shrinkage that develops on drying is a potential hazard, particularly on a vertical surface. These are the reasons for tiles falling off.
To overcome the inadequacies of traditional bedding and fixing materials, a new product POLYALK – TA has been developed which is specially designed for such jobs. This not only increases the adhesion but also the durability than neat cement paste.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Surface Preparation – Clean the surface, where POLYALK – TA is to be applied. All loose particles, dust, paint, wall paper should be physically removed . The surface should be free of all the loose particles, oil, wax etc.
Mixing -
Mix 2.5 parts POLYALK - TA to 1 part of water by volume ( 6.7 - 7.5 liter water for each 25 kg bag of POLYALK – TA ) . Mix thoroughly with slow speed drill or with paddle to get uniform lump free, paste consistency. Allow the material to stand for 3 minutes, after which, again stir the mixture.
Application -
Apply the mixture using flat trowel at a thickness of 2- 3 mm and comb with a notched trowel . Prime the back of the tile. Fix the tiles immediately by slight twisting action and hammer gently with a soft mallet to assume a better bond .
Finishing - Remove the excess POLYALK - TA with damp cloth before material has set. Grouting of joints can be started after 24 hours.

COVERAGE
5.5 to 6.5 m2 per 25 kg of POLYALK - TA for an average 2-3 mm thickness. The coverage depends on the type of tiles and condition of the substrate.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE
It has a shelf life of 6 months when stored in original packing in a cool, dry place. Precaution to be taken during storage so as to avoid contact with water and moisture. |
