TILE ADHESIVES & TILE GROUT - POLYALK - TF
Bonding Agent For Fixing All Types Of Tiles

DESCRIPTION

Polyalk TF is a single component-bonding agent used for fixing tiles.

USES
  1. Fixing heavy, large sized tiles on the facades of multi-storey buildings.
  2. Good for ceramic, mosaic and floor tiles, tilling of swimming pools, stones- granite and marble cladding of the walls and columns, exterior and interior use

ADVANTAGES

  1. POLYALK TF can be easily mixed with white or grey cement.
  2. The matrix is totally watertight and has additional flexural and tensile properties.
  3. Provides extraordinary adhesion between the tile surface and concrete/ plaster.
  4. POLYALK TF and white cement may be tinted to match the colour of the tiles for joint filling, which does not come off or leach out to leave ugly stains.
  5. Tiles can be fixed on either dry or wet surface without any loss of bond strength.
  6. Fallen tiles may be refixed without disturbing the adjoining tiles.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  1. Clean the receiving surface of all the loose particles, oil, grease etc and wet it.
  2. Prime the tile and receiving surface with 1:1 slurry of POLYALK TF and cement.
  3. Prepare a mortar of POLYALK TF, fresh cement and quartz sand ( 2 mm down) in 1:3:9 proportion by weight using a mechanical mixer. Add as little water as needed.
  4. Spread this mixture uniformly on the back of the already primed tile while the priming coat is tacky. Remove excess material by a notched trowel and press home the tile into position. A 3 mm thick layer is recommended. Support the fixed tiles for 48 hours.

COVERAGE

For Priming Coat: 4–5 m2/ Kg/ coat. For Mortar: 1.5-2 m2 /Kg (3 mm average thickness). Variations may occur depending on the surface.

TEST RESULTS

Test results indicated that the bond strengths obtained with POLYALK TF were much higher than for tile fixed by ordinary cement. In many cases during the test the tile broke but the bond remained intact (I. S. 4456 Part I- 1967).

PRECAUTIONS

  1. Prepare POLYALK TF mortar, which can be used within 30 minutes.
  2. Normal traffic on floor tiles may be permitted only after 24 hours of setting.
  3. The joints should preferably be filled after 24 hours.
  4. It is non–toxic, any accidental contact with body should be washed with plenty of water.

PACKING, STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

1, 5, 20 kg HDPE containers with shelf life of 12 months when stored in original packing in a cool, dry place.
