GENERAL
In cold weather concreting, concrete undergoes freezing and hence cannot develop the required compressive strength due to lack of hydration
SUN D FROST protects concrete from freezing until it has attained a compressive strength of at least 3.5 N/mm2.This concrete then does not get affected by the exposure to a single freezing cycle.
APPLICATIONS
- Follow ACI 306 guide to cold- weather concreting.
- It is recommended that the placement takes place in conditions above a wind chill of 150 F or higher.
Proper wind barrier should be utilized.
- This material can be used with any cement i.e OPC or Pozzolanic cement. Use minimum 6 bags. The addition of this material should be done in gauging water.
- Suitable dispensers or measuring devices shall be used for mixing.
- Depending upon the ambient temperature at site, preliminary site trials shall be conducted to decide the correct dosage.
