Wazirabad Bridge Project:
Wazirabad Bridge, constructed in 1959 to cater to the water needs of Delhi, this barrage spans a length of 1,491 feet.
The Wazirabad bridge serves as a weir over the Yamuna River in the northern part of Delhi, under the jurisdiction of the Delhi government.
Positioned on the right side are six under-sluices, each measuring 60 feet, along with a spillway featuring 17 bays, each of 58 feet.
The spillway’s top sits 4 feet higher than the under-sluices. Both upstream and downstream, a concrete floor and a flexible apron contribute to the structure’s design.
The Application:
Sunanda Global’s anti-carbonation coating was chosen as an additional layer of protection in the bridge, which is exposed to UV rays, water, and carbon dioxide to withstand extreme climate changes and thus protect from wind and rain.
It offers superior protection against carbonation, chloride penetration, and water infiltration, allowing moist substrates to breathe. Available in a wide variety of standard and unique colours.
The highly sophisticated, aqueous, elastomeric anti-carbonation coating from Sunanda Global is perfect for providing decorative protection for bridges and buildings.
Conclusion:
Sunanda Global supplied anti-carbonation coatings to provide a carbon-preventative flexible coating from external surfaces. This coating exhibits excellent colour retention and UV protection even under challenging climatic conditions.
The applied coatings were tough, flexible, and durable, which pleased the contractors. The anti-carbonation coatings protect against the damaging marine and coastal elements that may affect the bridge.
