What is Wall Waterproofing?
Waterproofing the wall is a process that involves creating a barrier that prevents water infiltration through your walls. It is particularly vital for areas that are susceptible to moisture, such as exterior walls, and areas exposed to heavy rainfall.
Which Parts of Your Home Require Wall Waterproofing?
Several areas in your home may benefit from waterproofing to prevent moisture-related issues and protect the structural integrity of your property.
Exterior Walls
Exterior walls are exposed to the elements and can deteriorate over time. Waterproofing the exterior walls helps shield them from rain, humidity, and other weather-related threats, extending their lifespan.
Bathrooms
Bathrooms are prone to high humidity levels, which can lead to mold growth and damage to the walls. Waterproofing bathroom walls ensures that moisture is kept at bay, preventing costly repairs.
Garages
Garages can be exposed to moisture from rain and snow, which can lead to damage and rust. Waterproofing in garages helps preserve the integrity of the space and protects your vehicles and belongings.
Utility Rooms
Rooms housing water heaters, washing machines, and other appliances are susceptible to leaks and water damage. Waterproofing these walls ensures the safety of your appliances and prevents costly repairs.
Foundation
Your home’s foundation is its structural backbone. Waterproofing the foundation walls prevents water from infiltrating and compromising its stability.
Retaining Walls
If your property features retaining walls, waterproofing them is essential to prevent water from eroding the soil behind them and compromising their stability.

What is the Process of Applying Waterproof Wall Paint?
Step 1: Clean cracks in the wall with a water jet or water spray.
Step 2: Fill cracks with POLYFILL AR paste. It is a ready-to-use crack filler putty so there is no need to open the cracks. Simply apply over the cracks and the putty gets absorbed within the cracks in a few hours. In case of deeper cracks, two applications may be needed.
Step 3: Mix 1 kg POLYALK WP waterproofing liquid with 1 kg of grey or white cement and apply a primer coat over the entire external wall. Allow it to cure for 24 hours.
Step 4: Apply two coats of 100% Acrylic Elastomeric Waterproof Paint SUNACE on the primed area at an interval of 24 hours between coats. Allow the final coat to cure for 24 hours.
