Application of Polyalk WP for internal walls during new construction
- Apply Polyalk WP directly on the interior blockwork/brickwork, followed by a dash/chat coat of plaster and, subsequently, first and second coats of plaster.

Application of Polyalk WP for existing internal walls
Surface Preparation:
- Clean the surface and remove oil or any loosely held plaster/powder.
- For loose and hollow surfaces, we recommend replastering.
- Cure the masonry surface before the application.
- If there is a presence of efflorescence on existing surfaces, use efflorescence cleaner for cleaner according to its usage or clean it with a wire brush followed by thorough water washing.
- Hairline cracks must be filled with Polyfill AR, while larger cracks and damaged areas must be filled with polymer-modified cement mortars.
- Wash the entire surface with water with a brush.
- Detach all weak sand particles, instant lime, POP, black spots, fungus, and moss on moisture-affected walls.
- Before applying Polyalk WP, the surface needs to be in a dry saturated condition.
Application Method:
- If the surface has dampness and/or efflorescence, follow the below procedure –
- Prepare the surface according to the process above.
- Remove the existing putty till the plaster level across the total affected area.
- Apply the first coat of Polyalk WP across the entire affected area.
- Allow it to dry for 6-8 hrs.
- Apply 2nd Coat of Polyalk WP perpendicular to the first coat.
- Allow it to dry for 6-8 hrs.
- Apply two coats of wall putty over Polyalk WP.
- Allow it to dry for 6-8 hrs.

Q – How to apply Polyalk WP?
A – You can apply Polyalk WP in the following manner:
Surface preparation:
- Surface preparation of the surface which you will waterproof is essential.
- Scrub and clean the surface.
- Remove laitance, dirt, paint, loose flakes, particles, foreign matter, etc., using a vacuum cleaner, high-pressure water jet, wet sandblasting, or wire brushing.
- Ensure that the concrete surface possesses an open pore surface texture.
Filling of Cracks:
- Repair and make good; any faulty concrete in the form of cracks, honeycombing, etc., and mortar with Polyalk EP or Sunmix as per specifications.
- Fill hairline cracks on plaster/mortar with Polyfill AR as per specifications.
- Remove all curing compounds and sealers.
Application of Polyalk WP:
- Moisten the surface with a water jet for 24 hours before applying Polyalk WP.
- Mix 1 Kg of Polyalk WP with 1.25 Kg of fresh white or grey cement by weight using a low-speed stirrer to form a slurry. (Any cement make is compatible).
- Continuous hand-mixing to form a lump-free consistency may also be adequate.l
- Keep the mix continuously stirred.
- Apply the slurry by brush/roller to the damp surface.
- Apply two more coats of similar slurry at 24 hrs intervals.
- Allow setting for 24-48 hours.
- Cure the coating for 2-3 days by sprinkling water three times daily on the vertical surface (external walls) and using moist gunny bags on the horizontal surface (terraces, toilets, etc.).
- Provide a protective screed/plaster for horizontal surfaces on the Polyalk WP coating.
