Cooling Tower Durability Enhancement at DFPCL’s Dahej Petrochemicals Facility
Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited is one of India’s leading manufacturers of industrial chemicals and fertilisers, operating large-scale production facilities across the country. At their Dahej facility, DFPCL undertook protective coating and durability enhancement works for the cooling tower structure. The project was executed by Ashray Infrastructure, with Sunanda Global supplying and applying the epoxy coating system selected for the protection works.
The cooling tower structure required a high-performance coating system capable of delivering long-term protection against moisture, chemical exposure, and the harsh operating conditions characteristic of an active petrochemicals facility.
The Challenge
A cooling tower structure at an active petrochemicals facility operates under continuous and compounding stress. The protection specification at DFPCL Dahej required a coating system that could address:

- Requirement for durable protection against chemical splashes and industrial contaminants

The Application
Sunanda Global supplied and applied a two-product epoxy coating system for the protection of the cooling tower structure.
SUNEPOXY WB was applied as a moisture-tolerant primer and coating, providing excellent adhesion and resistance to chemicals and moisture.
SUNEPOXY HB was applied as the high-build finish coat, a solvent-free epoxy coating providing superior chemical resistance, waterproofing, abrasion resistance, and long-term protection for concrete surfaces.
