Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited Project:
Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd (RFCL) came into existence on February 17, 2015, to set up a natural gas-based ammonia urea complex along with offsite and utility facilities to construct a 3,850 MTPD urea plant and 2,200 MTPD ammonia unit at Ramagundam, Telangana.
RFCL is a joint corporation of National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), Engineers India Limited (EIL), and Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited (FCIL) (Promoters) with 26% equity each by NFL & EIL. FCIL has been granted 11% equity in terms of CCEA approval, and Telangana’s government has agreed to contribute 11% equity.
On March 22, 2021, RFCL announced that it would begin operating the Ramagundam Unit commercially during the financial year 2022–2023.
RFCL has cumulatively produced 490633 MT neem-coated prilled urea and dispatched 497512 MT neem-coated prilled urea and is contributing to reducing the gap between supply and demand in the country.
The Application:
Sunanda Global, known as the Best waterproofing company, applied specialized, eco-friendly epoxy resin coatings with high chemical and abrasion resistance for RFCL’s Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals plant. This protective layer was crucial in preventing corrosion and deterioration of the concrete surfaces exposed to harsh environmental and chemical conditions.
Following a successful site mock-up submission, RFCL approved Sunanda Global’s solution, and the team proceeded to apply the epoxy coatings, which delivered impressive performance in protecting the infrastructure.
Conclusion:
Sunanda Global’s epoxy resin coating is a zero-VOC product free of toxic materials like coal tar, pitch, and aromatic hydrocarbons. It makes an environmentally safe option that does not pose a risk to human health or the environment.
The product of Sunanda Global used for this project is an add-on value system acting as an impenetrable barrier providing superb protection against the underground atmosphere, which is particularly important in the context of a chemical and fertilizer plant.
